August 6, 2008

We are about to start another school year. We are also 6 days away from having 2 eleven year olds in the house. Tomorrow is election day. Today is just going to be a boring day~HA. I am cleaning. Hoping to get the house cleaned up before our whirlwind starts next week. We were told at the 5th grade swimming party that Monday they would start on Monticello~ Thomas Jefferson's plantation. They will be studying about every place they will visit on the 5th grade Washington DC trip. School has not yet started and already I am tired. We leave in 53 days.

For those who did not see Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman's interview on Good Morning America, you missed a good one. They will be on Larry King Live August 7th at 8 central time. Try to watch it. It is an inspiring story about faith. Visit Stevencurtischapman.com.

Closing July

July is coming to a close. It has been full of fun and activity. We started off the month at the BEACH! We were on the beach for the 4th watching the fireworks all along the Emerald Coast. We came home and the tadpoles finished out their city league swim team with the championship meet. They came in 11th and 14th out of about 140 ~10 and under. Then the next weekend they competed in the Southeastern Long Course Championship meet. It was a long weekend but very exciting. Coming off the Southeastern fun, we went straight into VBS. We got a little rest on Thursday, July 24th. Friday, we welcomed our new preacher and his beautiful family for the weekend. They will be with us fulltime in September. They had dinner with us Friday night. Saturday, our family hosted the annual Fireworks for our church. This year we added a fish fry. It was a fabulous evening. Today was church and a bit of rest. Looking at my calendar for this week, I am already exhausted. Next weekend, we will celebrate the tadpoles 11th birthday. They decided they did not want a big party this year but wanted to go to the drive-in with their two oldest friends~ one is 2 days younger and the other is 3 weeks younger. The four have been together from the start. It has been a joy to watch them all grow up together. Hope you July has been as exciting as our's. We have 15 days till school starts and 16 days till we have 11 year olds!!!! August is shaping up to be just as exciting.
